The Business Administration programme is designed for students who wish to gain an introductory qualification in the field of business. Thus, the primary objective of the programme is to provide students with a solid business education along with additional knowledge and abilities to succeed in a particular area of business. Students completing EC’s Diploma in Business Administration may articulate to our Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) or any business degree programmes at our partner universities.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)

At the end of the programme the student should be able to attain the following learning outcomes:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and practical application of the general business concepts, processes and principles relevant to the functioning of various types of organisation.
  • Demonstrate team spirit with the ability to communicate and lead effectively in decision-making, problem solving and managing information in a business environment.
  • Pursue life long learning by demonstrating entrepreneurship skills with high ethical standards and socially responsible practises and processes.

Programme Learning Outcomes (PLO)

Upon the completion of the programme, students will be able to:

  • Having the ability to comprehend and apply the basic knowledge of business, management and mathematical principles.
  • Having the ability to apply appropriate practical skills in the field of study.
  • Developing sense of responsibility towards the community and being able to empathise and appreciate social and cultural differences.
  • Having the ability to demonstrate right attitudes and values such as integrity and commitment towards their studies and in the workplace.
  • Having the proficiency to communicate and write effectively including the ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely as an individual and in a group with leadership capacity.
  • Having the ability to respond and demonstrate problem-solving skills in handling and managing elementary pre-university level problems.
  • Having the ability to engage in independent and lifelong learning and also equipped with increased content knowledge in subjects for tertiary education.
