Foundation In Arts

The Foundation in Arts at Executive College is a one-year Pre-university Preparatory Programme specifically tailored for students who wish to explore their career options in areas such as Business, Information Technology, Construction Management, Built Environment, Languages and other non-engineering fields of study.


This programme prepares and equips the students with the necessary knowledge and skills for their entry into undergraduate degree studies at various reputable universities, both local and overseas. Should the students prefer to remain at Executive College, they will have the option to proceed with the degree programmes offered in collaboration with the prestigious Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL).

Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)

At the end of the programme, the student should be able to attain the following learning outcomes:

  • Graduates are ready to apply the necessary knowledge, techniques, and skills for the intended undergraduate degree programmes.
  • Graduates can demonstrate teamwork and leadership skills as well as good communication skills, with a sense of responsibility and commitment towards oneself and the team.
  • Graduates are able to continue and succeed in tertiary education.

Programme Learning Outcomes (PLO)

Upon the completion of the programme, students will be able to:

  • Comprehend and apply the basic knowledge of business, management, and mathematical principles.
  • Apply appropriate practical skills in the field of study.
  • Respond and demonstrate problem-solving skills in handling and managing elementary pre-university level problems.
  • Develop a sense of responsibility towards the community and be able to empathize and appreciate social and cultural differences.
  • Demonstrate right attitudes and values such as integrity and commitment towards their studies and in the workplace.
  • Communicate and write effectively, including the ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely as an individual and in a group with leadership capability.
  • Engage in independent and lifelong learning and also be equipped with increased content knowledge in subjects for tertiary education.
  • Have the skills to manage their time and resources effectively.
